Paradise Ridge is nestled between two beautiful canyons, Feather River and Butte Creek in the Sierra Nevada Foothills. It is home to Paradise, Magalia and surrounding areas. Paradise is noted for beautiful ridge views, tall pines and cooler summertime temperatures. Paradise is 10 miles east of Chico, 85 miles north of Sacramento and only 20 minutes to Lake Oroville Marina.

Paradise Ridge has a variety of parks. Bille Park is a historic park where Native American artifacts and dwelling caves were discovered. There are play structures, picnic and meadow areas, walking trails and a hiking trail out to the canyon lookout. Terry Ashe Recreation Center has a playground, picnic areas, and basketball courts. It hosts the ice rink in the winter and various local festivals including the Chocolate Fest and Johnny Appleseed Days. Aquatic Park is where the local public swimming pool is located. It also features a duck pond, nature trail, picnic areas and playground. Paradise Community Park has a playground area and is the location of The Depot Museum. The Depot Museum is in the same spot that the old train depot used to be and is a local railroad and logging museum. It is where Party in the Park is held Thursday evenings throughout the summer. Moore Road Park is where you’ll find the dog park, a riding area, rope course, playground and two ballparks. Coutolenc Park is 364 acres and you can enjoy hiking and archery with the 42 targets on the NFAA certified range. Further up the ridge in Stirling City is Merlo Park a privately owned park that is beautifully landscaped and includes a chapel, trails and pond.

Paradise hosts quite a few festivals throughout the year. The Chocolate Fest, Johnny Appleseed Days, Party in the Park, Wine in the Pines, Kids Fishing Day and more! The Gold Nugget Days is an annual event that started in 1959 to celebrate our gold mining history and the discovery of the largest gold nugget found, 54 pounds! The Gold Nugget Museum showcases the Ridge’s past.
