Bidwell Mansion – 525 Esplanade

The Bidwell Mansion is a three-story, 26-room museum that was the home of General John Bidwell and his wife, Annie Bidwell. 

Completed in 1868, the $56,000 luxurious mansion was one of the most modern pieces of architecture of its time. It features Victorian-era furniture with elegant polished wood, wall-to-wall carpeting, and marble slate fireplaces, among its other luxury features.

The house museum is now under California State Parks and allows visitors to marvel and connect with this piece of Chico’s history. 

Patrick Ranch Museum – 10381 Midway

The Patrick Ranch Museum is the perfect place to immerse yourself in Chico’s rich agricultural history.

The ranch museum rests on 28 acres between Chico and Durham and features exhibits and artifacts dating back to the late 19th century. It has been open to the public since 2010 and offers several educational programs for visitors. 

Stansbury Home – 307 W 5th St #5505

The Stansbury Home was home to renowned medical doctor Oscar Stansbury. Constructed in 1883, this 19th-century Victorian Italianate historic home houses a collection of medical equipment and tools used by Dr. Stansbury. You can also see a replica of the carriage used by the doctor when he went on house calls. 

Tours are available on Saturday and Sunday, 1:00-4:00 p.m, charged at $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under. 

Honey Run Covered Bridge – 1670 Honey Run Rd

The Honey Run Covered Bridge is one of the most iconic bridges in America. It has been around for 131 years and has been a symbol of Northern California since 1894. But in November 2018, this beloved icon was destroyed by the Camp Fire.

Fortunately, a group of public and private stakeholders has decided to rebuild the bridge entirely with private donations—and they need our help! Every dollar you donate will help rebuild this treasured icon!
